Understood. My point was more about the fact that it opened the door for Fox. In today’s world, yes, we would need a law at the least.
The Fairness Doctrine would change nothing about this as little of what Kirk said was shown on broadcast and the Fairness Doctrine could not constitutionally apply to cable, satellite, internet, or print.

This is so emblematic of why we are where we are. Those that have watched Fox opinion have only heard their skew, AND NOTHING ELSE, for decades. If they only knew…. This is why dropping The Fairness Doctrine, at the direction of Ronald Reagan, was so detrimental to our society.
This may explain why there’s an aggressive response to people who merely post Kirk’s own words. It threatens the existence of the alternate Kirk - the motivational speaker that had been marketed to young kids and white Christian groups through selective quotation & clips.

So much to say. The national guard is being used by trump to provoke confrontation so he can declare Marshall law. Stay peaceful all. The Israelis have seized and fired upon an aid flotilla in international waters, against international law.
