(grim, looking around the table) It came from Earth, gentlemen. So, therefore, one of reasons they must obviously come is to obtain organ replacements. There maybe other reasons. (thoughtful) Imagine a dying planet, in some distant corner of the universe, natural resources exhausted, its inhabitants sterile, doomed to extinction. A situation we may someday find ourselves in, gentlemen. So, they discover Earth, abundant, fertile, able to satisfy their needs. They look upon us, not with animosity, but with callousness, as we look upon our animals when we depend on them for food. Yes, it would appear they are driven by circumstance, across a billion miles of space. Driven by the greatest force in the universe, survival.

At this point (the red X) there's no bridleway or byway option going left to right. Only (two) RoW options for bikes and horses are north south. That leads you to using the road along Ranmore Common really if you stick to the rules, which isn't pleasant (unless you're a roadie that loves it)
Surrey County Council Right of Way map of Ranmore Common and the North Downs Way across the hill beneath it, marked as a footpath. Byway going steeply up the hill south to north, and a bridleway further left doing likewise. Ranmore Common Road goes left to right at the top of the hill, which is tarmac exposed to road traffic out in the open, not like a nice track through the woods and along the north downs with fantastic views
