Omaha born and raised.

Solidarity means solidarity.
Doubt he'll ever see it but @mikeduncan.bsky.social just gave me an incredible present. I started this project on ep1 of the Revolutions podcast and I'm listening to the Martian season as I finish, but I have 3 rooms to go and now he's announced more to come. Thanks for the hours of entertainment!

He's annoyed he's only getting one handed scritches and demanding the second.

Paratroopers have a long and storied history of almost kinda working.

Dunno about healthy but this was my poverty meal.

I don't always cook the beans first if I'm in a hurry/feeling lazy. I do highly recommend mixing your own spices/grinding whole ones if you have the stuff. My wife had a coffee grinder she never used and now it's the spice grinder

That's the best part, they aren't!

At least not in any way that matters. Arguably, the current crop has a fair bit of resemblance to the Progressive Era, complete with an obsession with "racial purity" and atrocious race relations.

Hope we all had a happy Halloween

Buddy boy had a good day today. He may be spoiled rotten, but he's mine to spoil rotten.

Even better, it's drones.

Omaha and well. I think it was a largest turn out for a protest than I've been to, certainly the largest since early 2020.

Sure do! Wore it to the IL game in 2015 and was Trad Herbie for Halloween that year.

Another day, more incremental progress. Getting the paint goop off is a pain.

Not a bad days work. I had hoped to get more done but it turns out stripping 1-2 layers of latex with citrus strip takes more than half a dozen of oil based with a heat gun.

And the house now smells strongly of fake orange.

But just this door and the closet door and it's painting time, baby.

I stopped caring about the "kids these days" stuff when I was a teen and read the Iliad. There's a character who had the same rant in a story set in 1200 BCE and written down ~400 BCE.

"Back in my day men were men and knew how to respect their elders!"

At this point I've migrated to Edge at work and it's about sending a message at home.

I've had to use so many damn hacks and workarounds to keep my Google products the way I like them and they keep getting worse, so it's probably better to stop now where I can until they stop.

And you can tell he's lying because the hospitals are being pretty explicit about why they're closing.

Oh, that's easy, all of America would resemble the Founders vision of a robust and democratically elected local government with religious freedom for all.

If they wanna try and gatekeep the specific religious belief, they also had pretty strong thoughts on my Catholic ancestors in 1770s America.

There seems to be a family reunion type thing happening at our campsite so there's a gaggle of little girls chasing after Gramma and giggling.

"I almost caught a real big fish over- Look how big that spider is!"

Kids are wonderful.
