Exchanging messages with eldest this morning about her trying to establish her first clear memory which isn’t supported / triggered by photos. She’s at 6 so far. Noted I can remember my dad hitting me when I was 3 or 4. Conclusion: if you want your children to have early memories, beat them.

I was a non-hooligan football fan in the 1980s. Funnily enough, this wasn’t what the Tory government of the time thought or said about me.
