The Silo Art Trail in North Western Victoria, Australia, is an absolute treasure. Here’s four of the seven or eight we visited yesterday.

Another Saturday morning in the City Watchhouse, Russell Street Melbourne. But this time it’s wine tastings for NxNE, wineries from Victoria’s north and north-east.
There’s even snacks from Scott Pickett. Better than gruel.

Woo hoo! Look what arrived this morning.
One of the privileges of my journalistic life was interviewing the great man. (I doubt he was equally impressed.)

A long time coming, but finally fine dining has arrived in the massive Yarra Bend development at Alphington with Decca, Adam D’Sylva’s new bistro.
Had a swing through the menu last night and loved the yellowfin tuna on pappadams; cacio pepe arancini; & rigatoni in spicy vodka sauce. Get along there.

So it’s goodbye again to Palermo — as always, gritty, grungy, noisy, delicious and full of heart.

Listening to this great album reminded me I hadn’t caught up with Willy Vlautin’s latest book, The Horse.
I have now and just ate it up. It’s up there with his best, a musing on the perils and pleasures of the musician’s life and a heartbreaker.

Rack another one up for good taste. After my raving at the weekend about @emmaswiftsings.bsky.social and Blonde On The Tracks, a mate has just gone out and bought one.

If you haven’t already done so, be like Neil folks and do yourselves a favour.

Like Lazarus, it seems DCAP, the Dart Centre Asia Pacific, has risen from its freshly dug grave.

@martinflanagan.bsky.social remember my, ahem, review on the occasion of the Bright bushfires? I’m back — but just passing by. I dare not return.

G’day. Any Australian native plant folk who can identify this. Medium bush/tree, star-like flowers, very attractive to a range of insects. Up near Bright and Harrietville.

This little guy came to meet us near the end of our gruelling ride from Beechworth to Yackandandah and back today. Made it all worthwhile.
The beers and pizzas at Bridge Road Brewery sealed the deal.
