New in the Gallery at ClaySpace in Lisle, IL, through 4/27, is Kennections: a show featuring the work of pottery instructor Ken Maloney and his student body. It's more than ceramics, it's a whole story to discover. Come experience it for yourself if you're in Illinois and take some art home.

My frog piece is finally completed! Hand built and sculpted over 8 weeks, 4 weeks of drying and kiln before hand-painting with India inks.

Inspired by finding misplaced items in the woods... This sunhat was lost amongst the trees. A frog needed a home and nature slowly reclaimed the hat.

I grew up in a neighborhood of Chicago, IL called Beverly Hills, near 9&the and Western. This is a phot of the Irish Castle, an estate on a hill turned into mixed use where I attended PreSchool and Kindergarten in the 80s. It was magical and had great hills for rolling down and sledding. HSPD!

Tulip 'Akebono' is one of my absolute favorites, with tulips being my favorite type of flower. They're joyful. This huge, multiple-petal variety opens to almost 6" across. Butter yellow petals streaked with green and flourishes of salmon. What's your favorite flower?

In Chicago it is mid-50s today which feels like summer compared to the brutal cold we had last week. A sunny morning has me dreaming of daffodils. This variety, 'Tahiti' is a double petaled variety with a great fragrance. Photos courtesy of Eden Brothers Nursery

My horned toad sleeps and now slowly dries amongst the forest grasses, acorns, and leaves in her throne that nature is reclaiming.
