This is the HAL game - not to be confused with the wretched Activision one. Was only released in Europe and Japan, I think due to licensing issues. Actually one of the better games on the system.

These ducks take crazy good care of their ducklings. They're much more aggressive than mallards so maybe that's part of it. Also possibly don't have other mallards attacking them? Not very up-to-date on my duck politics.

Been playing this on MAME recently, really impressive how much they do with the core hammer mechanic/theme and also crazy impressive visuals for the time. Also just kind of odd and cool how much effort they put into making something with such inherently limited appeal so great.
