Hi all, thought I'd post a quick intro. I'm a cello player from Alexandria, Virginia, USA (and Denver, CO), big on chamber music and photography, lots of curiosity about society and culture, new music, visual art, storytelling, science, F/OSS... good coffee... Always trying to listen and learn!
July 4, 2000, Ray Charles playing A Capitol Fourth. (It was a fun summer in a different, more hopeful era … in DC for a nonprofit internship, I waited all day to see the fireworks with some fellow interns, sitting on the Capitol steps to hold a good spot—worth it!) DSLR scan of 35mm Kodak Gold 200.

Seriously, creative folks: Don't be afraid to let people know your stuff is out there for them, or worry that "now is not the time for that." People are stressed and freaked out and looking for the things that will give them a moment of rest and joy. It is EXACTLY the time for what we do. Tell them.

Maybe worth saying that political engagement here means a lot to me, but I don’t think I’m the best or most important voice on big issues. I’ll try to repost things that seem especially helpful.
