By that point the partner commander decks are already locked. It’s already too late.
I guess I tell them that the way to have other formats keep up with Commander is not Modern Horizons and a move away from supporting store events.

If everyone got gifted a copy of each (the most aggressive ending of the reserved list) I think it would be fun, and my guesses on how quickly each would get tiresome would be as follows
Black Lotus - pretty quickly
Ancestral - eventually

There’s a story of no less than Kai Budde getting them mixed up and morphing the wrong one at some event, which at the time was punishable by a game loss.
