Carved this mini-vase for my wife's office. Norwegian maple. Tough as nails, some of the hardest wood I've carved...it's 4" tall, has 2 coats of tung oil and 3 coats of paste wax. Really please with it tho there is still a lot of room for improvement. Long story short; carving is fun!

Oh oak you fickle little shit. Guess I shouldn't be cutting dovetails on very little sleep with a wood that tends to splinter....also don't judge the masking tape, I'm a slow learner...

Ok so I don’t have a banneton (nevermind that a month ago I didn’t even know what that was…I’m getting into the bread making trend 5 years after the trend) and have been using a bowl with a cloth and some flour…only last night I forgot the flour, my bread stuck and I ended up getting crazy texture!

Daily drive. Freightliner step truck. All guts no glory. No A/C, no radio, no heat in winter, no frills. I kinda like it like that. Utilitarian. Grimy. Earned bruises and experience.

Sadly one of the few I have available these days is this one, it’s a great shot tho, I love it! Shot on a Canon 10d, max ISO of 1600, center-point focus…the early ages of digital photography. love how it’s hands up to James, not iPhones pointed at him! Many photos were lost to corrupted HDs…

Saw this truck today. I really need a new vehicle and have been wanting a small truck for a while. You see tons and tons of old Rangers (and the Mazda twin) still on the road even tho they’re all 15-20 years old. That must mean something right? I want a cheap, fun to drive lumber hauler!

Look, my technique sucks…but god-fucking-dammit I love this thing. I’ve had it around 15 years but only learned to properly use it in the past few months…it would have saved me sooooo much time sewing patches onto my jackets back in the day…

One of my biggest joys in life is trying and learning new things. More spoon carving today…lots of room for improvement in design and technique…so much fun!

To whoever left a bunch of plant clippings outside the door of their apartment building on Pie-IX in Montreal…thanks! Appreciate the gesture! This one will get a good home!

They’re the villains, the bad guys, the worst team in the history of sport but fuck do I love this photo of the Washington Generals from Thursday night. Photographing the Harlem Globetrotters is always fun!

I’ve got around 5-6 photo projects on the go using either 35mm or 6x7 cameras yet haven’t had the time to photograph for myself in a while. Busy life, busy kids lives…you know…the usual. Oh, and broke 24/7. This’ll pass I know, I’ll get back to it, but boy, do I miss it. From my No Parking series.

The mourning doves are back! I’d like to think that it’s the same couple who have visited my yard for 3 seasons now, always landing in the same spot on my deck railing! So stoked! Here they are from earlier tonight! I’m no nature photographer but these are ok.

Got home from work early, built my wife an Adirondack chair. It’s not perfect, but it’ll nice. Still have to sand and stain it, and get a cushion. Love building stuff! The skeleton isn’t my wife.

On the Ska-Core, The Devil and More ep by the Bosstones where they covered Police Beat. I was hooked. It took a while to finally pick up The Kids Will Have Their Say and holy shit it blew me away. Hard. No apologies. A perfect hardcore record. Thanks for the music Al, rest easy.
