In the decade I lived in NYC I went to Staten Island five times, each time for the NYC Marathon start, and so my only experience of Staten Island has been running away from it with a horde of people. Oh well.

FL is moving forward w/ plan to end all childhood vaccine mandates. Starting with hepatitis B, chickenpox, and the bacteria causing meningitis and pneumonia. Then next year GOP FL legislature is expected to revisit 1977 law re: whooping cough, measles, polio, rubella, mumps, diphtheria, and tetanus.

Mental health has def taken a nosedive this week, from what already felt like a nadir. The ongoing catastrophe at work doesn’t help, on the back of a really difficult year of family illness, relentless attacks from the local community during the last months of my title year, etc.

I also solve important work problems in my sleep: last week I dreamed about stacking the dishwasher at work (only a handful of us do it) but I couldn’t because an unknown ceramicist was using it as a drying rack for their work. My university hasn’t had ceramics since the 80s. Woke up intrigued.
