Serious answer, did you see RIDDLE OF FIRE? It played festivals in 2023 but had its theatrical release this year. Pretty easily one of my favorites of the year. My only minor nitpick is my usual "This should have been shorter" gripe.

And just finished PARABLE OF THE TALENTS by Octavia E. Butler. Even more brutal, terrifying, and depressingly prescient than SOWER. Never read a couple of novels that hit so hard in the moment. Brutal stuff but also extremely powerful writing. Instant All-Timers, both of them.
