Dems will have to get over the idea that they can run anybody BUT a "win the war and pick up the pieces" type candidate. Whoever shows up with the most comprehensive, unflinching plan to close ranks back with workers, restore the US Constitution, and throw the fascists into jail will be the nominee.
100% this. Any politics on twitter are self-invalidating. If you expect me to take you seriously while you are letting Elon Musk control your brain you are tripping absolute sack
big debate on Twitter: how bad is it that Peter Beinart violated BDS to speak at Tel Aviv University

🧠📉 Nationalize AI — Part 1 (The Problem)

Lot of AI news recently... see my multipart series on the only solution to the problem. 🍐

Private AI ≠ public good. If compute + data are the new rails, who owns the tracks? 🏛️🚆

Senate Democrats need to understand that it will be all-out war on them, by multiple segments of the party base, if they blink first.

Primary candidates should start announcing this week. Tomorrow, if possible.

The arrogance of Schumer and Gillibrand both, after what NYC did this week, to lead the charge back to compliance and surrender — it’s breathtaking. We must make absolutely certain that each of their current terms is their last.
After the public blamed the GOP and Trump, and after the Dem blowout on Tuesday, Schumer is surrendering and, in the process, the Dems will be blamed for not caving earlier and having the country go through all this.

This: "some of his advantages seem unlikely to transfer much beyond New York’s peculiar and left-leaning politics." Arggh.

Was Z's victory built on the work we've done in NYC to build power? Yes, of course. But could that work be done elsewhere? Yes, of course. And in many places, it has been.

🟢 It’s official: former Assemblyman Michael Blake is running for Congress in NY-15, challenging Rep. Ritchie Torres.

“I am ready to fight for you and lower your cost of living,” Blake writes, “while Ritchie fights for a genocide.”

The best time for Chuck Schumer to resign is now. Right this moment.

Not to over-meta stuff, but the redistricting fight is a glaring example of how so much Republican strategy revolves around assuming Democrats won’t fight back. They truly didn’t fathom that California and certainly now Virginia will retaliate, and they have realized immediately they are now fucked.

basically every 2024 truism is dead. Trump did not build a lasting multiracial coalition or turn young men into committed Republicans. You don’t need to cave on trans rights to win. The pundits have nothing left to tell you.

I don’t see how Chuck Schumer can even run for re-election at this point. As the senior elected Democratic Party official he just let the ball bounce right past him. And everyone was like hey, the ball, the ball

WE FUCKING DID IT NEW YORK
There has probably never been a more consequential election for NYC than who becomes Mayor this year. The Vichy nightmare of Eric Adams’ final year is almost certain to make that obvious. Who are we pulling out all the stops for? Who is going to prepare boldly for what is likely to befall us?

Everyday we must remind people that fascist gestapo agents and their enablers are committing atrocities. This is an ethnic cleansing. These are crimes against humanity. And they will be held accountable.

I could make a very sincere argument that Zohran should just put all of the core OWS people who are still in NYC on payroll and let us fire the old chaos engine back up, Occupy Sandy style. Imagine what we could have done with the support of the city, when our creative spark was at its most fertile
November 3, 2025 at 3:55 PM
Realizing I've hardly posted about my enthusiasm for Zohran's candidacy. When left politics find themselves in the mainstream, I often feel like my voice is no longer needed, or I just start thinking about the next question. But it felt great to vote for him today. I'm grateful for everyone's work.

Aside from the tattoo itself, this is the thing I’m thinking about. We have so many other things that need our attention, and finding candidates is not actually that hard if we start trying. Anybody who adds this much complexity and chaos is not worth the cost.
We should not be having a debate about Nazi symbolism tattooed on the potentially top ticket Democrat in Maine. The fact we are even willing to entertain it shows desperation within the Party, not dedication, and how far we have fallen from rational thought.

100%. Democrats that aren't defending a participant in their party primary who is being persecuted actively by the Federal Government for standing up for the US Constitution should hear about it every single time god's green air hits their ears
If they were smart, elected Democrats should speak up in her defense here. This is a slam dunk chance to point out that the Trump admin is targeting political opponents.
