1. I'm now convinced that no one captures the full range of Black love on screen the way Brock Akil does. From budding high school sweetheart love, to familial love, to the love her young lead characters develop for themselves, she captures it all, and makes you cry in the process.

Anyone else watching #BeyondtheGates and feeling closer to the family that introduced you to soaps? For me it was my paternal grandma, Bonnie Jean. We were an ABC family, but made an exception for Bold and the Beautiful. #watchingwhileblack
