The way I understand it, Sega asked for CE on the MD to be held back when Turbo was announced for the SNES, which made it a unique entry. But yeah, that was one way Capcom managed to get around these deals, by offering different versions. Sneaky!

And to add, if he *did* mean CE, that would still have been a massive deal in the US as it could have potentially blocked the realise of Special CE on the Genesis

Oh, and he mentioned the reason for the deal falling through was NEC and Hudson pulling the plug on TTI, which happened later than 1991/1992. The dates don't seem to add up, but again, this is speculation. It's just been a long time and the guy's memory might not be what it was (he's quite old now)

Dude, I'm 46. Trust me, I lived it. 👴

The reason that bit was added is that the timing seems off. The guy speaking was at TTI from 1992 to 1994 (then he took over Turbo Zone). The Super Famicom port was confirmed before 1992, so I think he might be talking about CE exclusivity. Just a hunch!

Oh, absolutely! As rough as a badger's arse, as they say around these parts. I still love that they tried, though - on what was essentially 8-bit hardware!

Seems to be related to the cookie/consent platform that we're using... clearing cookies will fix it. We've made the supplier aware so hopefully they get it fixed soon!
