A quiet evening in, reading Flaubert's Salammbô for the umpteen time. God, how I love this novel.

Thinking of my mum, who died ten years ago today. I still miss her terribly, though there are so many happy memories. She and I, meanwhile, in a café in Oxford, one of her favourite places, some time around 1990.
