No wonder I've got to keep charging up the Kindle. Sucked into yet another mammoth read. On book 3, there just has to be a big twist at the end of 6.

Today l heard about the exoplanet the size of Saturn orbiting Alpha centauri in the goldilock zone disappearing. This is thought to be because it is a 3 star system. I'll just put it out there. "Three body problem".

Hurray...after a dimal period of trying to get the fusion solar home assistant integration working l saw fusionsolar plus. No api key that doesn't work just my normal login. Brilliant.

For those thinking about how modern #solar panels perform. It's 9am here in Nottingham and out side it's drizzle yet 24 panels on 2 roof planes East and West are generating 1.5 kw. It's all about light.

Every wondered why Reform UK are so against renewables?
Could it be a sincere well thought out science based policy?
Surely not 92% of funding from fossil fuel interests.
Hey the Conservatives have taken more.
Liberal Democrats more than Labour.
Greens none....

Cutting green levies sounds big—but most are locked into long-term contracts like FITs & CfDs. Only £1.6bn is removable, saving just 0.7p/kWh—~£20/year. Don’t fall for fake fixes. Real reform means smarter policy, not slogans. #EnergyFacts #GreenLevy #UKBills #NetZero

We also have myenergi which manages the solar divert and Zappi for car charging.

It's 8:30 am here in Bramcote, Notts. The battery is full, the hot water is 100%, and it will be another day of rocking #NetZero or, in our case #NetPositive. We will be exporting more than we imported. To break even we only need to export (15p/kWh) 46% of what import (7p/kWh).

Meanwhile, I got this Holly Blue Celastrina argiolus in the garden yesterday morning. I have my canon slr with telephoto at hand to catch these fast-moving #butterflies

Extending No Mow May can significantly benefit wildlife—especially pollinators and invertebrates—if coupled with thoughtful management (e.g., late summer cut and remove). But it needs to balance biodiversity gains with social context, aesthetics, and practical maintenance.

I read about Bridport coohousing in the Guardian Editions The New Review. These housing schemes aim to build homes with communities at their heart. #sustainablearchitecture

We’re ahead of the game this No Mow May—just a neat border trimmed, the rest left wild. Already, the front lawn hums with life, a soft meadow in the making. Sometimes, the best thing you can do for nature is simply... not mow

Octopus Energy app now shows the standing charge, peak, and off peak on the graphs.
Last month for electricity it was £62.73 import £69.97 export. (Gas was £56.95) Each of these peaks is when one of the EVs is charged. Our Solar+Battery +Hot water storage very low bills.

Looks familiar

Current yearly savings of our £20k investment in Solar + Battery + HWS + 3x EV. With the intelligent Octopus we het paid for export, we are saving £2k per year on elect & £3k on petrol. A gross saving of £5k per year. This has reduced the payback time it was 8 yrs now, and it's 4, nearly in yr 2.
April 5, 2025 at 10:50 AM
March is a transition month in our household. The family has 3 EVs. Our electric bill was £60.55p but we exported £39.59p so the total £20.99p. As my kids pay £10 pm for charging, it only cost me 99p (ex SC). I am totally sold on solar, battery, HWS, and EVs. Our annual savings are about £5k.

They put 2 pamphlets through my door filled with dog whistling. Lies, gaslighting, and misinformation they excel at all 3.
They are dangerous. They want to make the wealthy richer at the expense of the rest of us.
Remember, they caused Brexit it's made us poorer and more vulnerable.

I hate being lied to, gaslit, and misled — but Reform UK excels at all three.
Two of their leaflets just landed through my door. Not only were they laughable, they were downright dangerous.

he hate campaign against Tesla, aimed at its absentee CEO and 12.9% shareholder, Musk, is causing huge collateral damage.
February 27, 2025 at 8:31 AM
Help Tesla get rid of Musk.
Why?
He no longer believes in climate change, he's a denier. He is aligned with fossil fuels, Anti EV and against renewables.

If the USA occupied any NATO country with military force not only would they be kicked out of NATO but would lose a lot of valuable assets: bases, intelligence etc. they would face economic isolation. The American people wont let it get that far but will enjoy the comedy show until it's not funny.

I though I'd share just how far object recognition has come with LLM's. I instructed ChatGPT to identify objects from an image I uploaded. It can't show the tags on a new image but it can give a data set of tag positions as shown in my test rig. Not bad but not accurate enough. #DataScience #AI
