Once upon a time: The Lowland Hundred. These days: whatever floats my way. Probably some new music stuff in 2026 || North Tyneside
You’ll do something completely different with it. Crack on, I say. The rustier they are, the better they sound.

You’ve got me wishing I was caught in a howling gale in the old country!

Lovely day here, thanks. 9 mile walk around a fairly easy trail. Lots of absolutely gorgeous snowscapes.

Loved the whole thread, Jon. It sounds like an absolutely classic winter’s day in the Welsh hills. Those gates are such a gift. They just hang there producing the most unearthly tones. I made a video soundtrack out of a (heavily treated) recording once upon a time.

The closest I can get to it in words is to imagine a very fine net curtain caught in a steady wind.

Well, the clouds parted as I left the pub. My eyes couldn’t pick out the colours at all though; they looked like pale, shimmering fingers of cloud.

You too, Jon. Give my regards to the place. I miss those old hills…

If all you do is go to the pub and ride, that is time very well spent.

I think it’s overcast until I leave. Aurora would have been a bonus but, honestly, I came for the darkness.

How’s Wales treating you?

I wish the minority could have turned off their phones for you as requested. Sorry you had to put up with that. It made no difference from my seat though; I was completely absorbed and transported.

You had me at Islay malts 😁 But fog and big hills sealed the deal.

#3 (the man on his own) is amazing! What a picture! 👏🏻

As a purely technical contributor, I think I can say with some objectivity that it IS brilliant and you will really enjoy it. I’ll post any updates I get from them on here and Instagram. Thanks again!

Thank you, Jon. They’ve made a really great record. It was a pleasure to play a small part bringing it all together.

For my part, I will probably disappear back into semi-retirement. I have no interest in making music for the sake of it these days. At the end of it though, it was simply a great privilege to be involved in such a vibrant creative project.

It's certainly not a record that trades in the mawkishness of hauntology. There's optimism, beauty and an infectious, manic energy to it. Any reasonably adjusted listener should find passages to swoon over and passages that scare them shitless, just like those films that inspired it.

It harks back to 60s/70s horror films but never descends into lazy pastiche. At least 15 people contributed, creating a wonderfully diverse record with a palpable "weight". There are songs, instrumentals and spoken word pieces. It packs more into 22 minutes than most other albums manage in 60.

Pinhead as interstellar Spider-Man sounds amazing! Thank you, I will keep an eye out for those versions!
