Better than Sonic 1 but not by a ton, very much not a fan of the time travel mechanics and for some reason the cutscenes just weren't there for me. It's cool sometimes but I can't say I enjoyed it too much

Very good game, my main issue is that the gameplay feels like it barely evolves over the course of a 40-hour long playthrough but the story and characters more than make up for it. Would have changed my life if I played it in 2018 tho

Definitely better than Ys 1, still have similar issues with bump (and some new ones) but the story isn't forgettable this time and the bosses are way better than anything in the first game
