I am not well-versed in Other types of diabetes, but Google is your friend. Use it.
👉 All types require daily management
👉 Compassion > assumptions

If you want to support people living with diabetes, share facts, not stereotypes.
Let’s spread awareness, not blame. 💙

Type 2 Diabetes

There are several risk factors, including at least 6 major ones.
Only 2 relate to lifestyle.
Family history + genetics play a huge role.
➡️ Blaming sugar alone = oversimplification

Type 1 Diabetes:

It’s an autoimmune condition
The body attacks insulin-producing cells
Triggers can include Environmental Factors & viruses
➡️ NOT caused by sugar

👉Glucose builds up in the blood. Over time, this can harm your organs.
👉Your cells go hungry. They can’t get the fuel they need.
👉The body switches to “emergency mode”. It burns fat instead, which makes ketones.

Two main places:
👉 From food, such as carbohydrates, fruit, and some dairy, which is turned into glucose after you eat.
👉And from your liver, which stores glucose as glycogen and releases it when you need energy.
