Dock the points.

The Bible doesn't state that the Earth is 6000 years old. That date was calculated by the Anglican Archbishop of Armaugh, James Ussher, in 1658 and John Lightfoot in 1644 through the use of character ages and the 24 hour day.

Patton Oswalt was banned because people pointed out that this was equal to, if not worse, than what Sarah Kendzior said, but also because Bluesky's mods are the most useless people alive.

Do they think they will get a bumper crop of new scientists from all the mediocre white men from South Africa they want to bring in?

Something that’s so striking in these emails is how…unimpressive Epstein is. He comes off as a pompous, sub-literate lech. Yes everyone is so mortifyingly solicitous of him! All fawning and flattery! Why?????

I will say this: if you're a white westerner like me and you want to learn an Asian religion, what matters is that your sources recognize the cultural differences and help you understand them, rather than assuming meaning out of convenience. It means looking beyond feel-good quotes that sell books.

Squares for your #uspol bingo card:
*Desperate Trump embraces Patzis, gets a bunch of gullible young DSA kids to side with him.

*J.D. Vance torches SCOTUS after they fail to be extreme enough for him.

*Pete Hegseth or Peter Thiel as Vance VP

*Elon Musk named in Epstein files

Nick Fuentes gave away the game in one of his recent videos. Trump is only the head of the camel. The rest is surging forward and we have to be aware that the right is changing tactics. However they are also facing a cultural backlash against nationalism and coping hard so consider that too.

Beyond the obvious top-line—that the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law failed to change the equation of transit funding—this also highlights just how important it is to get transit construction costs under control.

It's lighting money on fire.

Great thread by @yonahfreemark.com:
The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law passed 4 years ago. In new research @urbaninstitute.bsky.social we study its effects.

US transport spending increased by 30%, but:
—Funding for non-highway projects flatlined
—Construction cost increases resulted in no actual increase in infrastructure
Federal Infrastructure Spending on Transportation, Four Years after the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act
The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law is up for reauthorization in 2026. New analysis shows that the act increased spending on transportation infrastructure, but…

I want to believe the Epstein thing will finally get Trump cornered by his own party. But that's unlikely given his history, and a monkey's paw if it does happen because they can still choose to stop at Trump and pretend there's no more rot. We can't accept that!

PORN IS ART, PORN IS GOOD, PEOPLE MAKING PORN IS A SIGN OF A HEALTHY SOCIETY
There has been a noticeable reticence in left and liberal circles to voice full-throated support for pornography, even as it's become increasingly clear what the open end goals of the censorship movement are
In a lot of ways other leftists chose this path folks. They shrugged and didn’t care when Patreon banned a ton of hypnosis and TF creators, or when YouTube started their ASMR crackdown. Now it’s coming for queer porn creators, more and more. Who will stand up?

I could take or leave lay life. But I've sunk so much cost in it that I would create more hurt and chaos if I left it now than if I stayed with it. I'm trying not to get swept away by lay life. It's like learning to sail in a thunderous gale.

You don't abandon ship in a storm though.
