absolutely absurd that Favre thinks he's justified to speak in public ever again. after all the crimes you'd think he'd have the shame to just shut the fuck up, but it appears shame is a dying art

I love this because I don't think there's a single good context to being repeatedly mentioned as a close friend in the emails of The King Pedophile

I've never met someone who didn't like funk and I don't think I particularly care to. Probably the best music genre if you think about it

Was at a show, my drunk friend spilled his drink on me as he was walking back to his seat. I go clean myself up, and then a half hour later he spills another drink on me
had an awful day. please reply with your favorite memory someone that totally ate shit in a physical way that isn’t a total bummer

how fucking bad are those files man. what's been released is already pretty damning, and he's still freaking out about the rest

every piece of info about these fictional shitting bears is terrifying. what do you mean his nickname is Squirmer. why does he leave the seat up so much if all he does is shit. what do you mean Bill can watch 3 episodes of a show on the can. why cant Leonard get past "this cushy tooshie".

and these emails are from 2008 and 2011, years before Trump ran for President, so you cant even really say, "oh he was just doing this to hurt Trump!" which of course, doesnt actually make sense (hurting Trump by sending a private email?), but is at least a potential attack vector

and the big thing is that it's kind of self-defeating. AI in in a spot where the only reason it's "good" as a search engine is access to websites with good info, but growth requires that they slowly strangle out those websites as they replace traditional search, which will in turn kill their product
I became an AI skeptic bc the only cogent use cases AI boosters gave were, "a better search engine". but regular search engines already worked fine for 99% of people. the few folks who needed something more were like, me and my colleagues, none of whom found tremendous value in AI search tools
Anthropic is aggressively hitting me with ads on instagram for Claude and it’s all people being like “I use Claude to brainstorm” or asking Claude where they can find two colors together in a city. What a pile of crap, how does anybody still believe this is the future? It’s Search 2 and it sucks

there's a moment in PARADISE LOST where Satan arrives in Eden and realizes Hell isn't a place; it's a thing he carries within him and it'll follow him wherever he goes. and i think about that when i see these awful rich men whose monstrous wealth has enriched them not at all

watching football with my Drag Race superfan wife is so funny. "oh that catch was fierce" "oh he ate with that touchdown"

also very fascinating to tell us the Federation is engaging in a brutal occupation of Naboo that we never even get a birdseye view of. it all happens entirely offscreen, but we're told that it's very dire and important. you'd think a shot of a little kid getting kicked by droid would write itself
Alright to wade into this the problem with the trade war aspect of the Phantom Menace is it is never exactly clear what is going on. The taxation of trade routes are in dispute which leads the Trade Federation to blockade and occupy Naboo. Is the Naboo route in dispute? Is that a major trade market?

ive got some Gen Z relatives who have been getting really into CDs recently. i think it's a bit nostalgia, a bit retro appreciation, and maybe a bit of appreciating how much simpler owning physical media is.
Interesting convo with a friend who owns a hip NYC record shop about a sudden renewed interest in CDs, which were a negligible part of his business till recently.

there are tons of complaints you can levy at the PT, but for me, the killer blow is that nearly the entire emotional core of the plot relies on Anakin and Padme's relationship, and i never buy for a second that those two people fell for and are actively in love with one another
God its so insane anakin admits to slaughtering a bunch of kids and it’s just a non factor for padme

anyway, this defense pressured Mahomes on over 50% of his dropbacks and the Chiefs lost. very cool, Andy Reid
Every Bills defensive clip has a solid four seconds or so of guys pointing at each other

Renner is the kind of old school celebrity we've been missing for a while. all of his decisions are completely inscrutable, he's constantly involved in the weirdest shit (including nearly dying), and all indications are that he's an absolute bastard.

someone with a couple million dollars and some know-how could put together the Justice League of journalists right now from all the layoffs
New: Conde Nast fired four employees who were among a group that confronted the company's head of human resources on Wednesday over the decision to fold Teen Vogue into Vogue/recent cuts. Employees who were fired included journalists from the New Yorker, Wired, and Bon Appétit.

pretty wild how the GOP very nearly created a multiethnic coalition that could fuck over Dems for who knows how long, but decided to go mask-off turbo racist and immediately alienate every single one of them
More broadly, heavily-Latino counties moved far to the right in NJ last year, and back to the left this year:

it's so infuriating when you consider the collateral damage of all of this. so many families, friends, acquaintances, co-workers, being made to watch these freaks brutally act with impunity. i dont think they really understand how much hatred theyre developing for their causes around the country
ICE isn’t going after the worst of the worst. This morning, they took a preschool teacher without a warrant IN FRONT OF CHILDREN in my district.

you could recite the Protocols of the Elders of Zion while wearing a SS uniform on camera and as long as you said, "i support the existence and current actions of Israel" at the end, the ADL would support you. they're currently a deeply unserious organization
The ADL has decided to treat fascists as allies and progressives as enemies. For a group that is tasked with protecting American Jews, that is a world historic fuck up.

I will never forgive these people for their moral decrepitude.
