While less historically accurate than most of the other cards I designed for ParaLens, no archeology themed game, ECG or otherwise, would be complete without a good ol' snake pit! This wonderful little piece of artwork was commissioned from Tatsiana Tushyna. #gamedev #sketch #art

An idea I've had in the back of my head for a while is to try and make a foam prop replica of the Seven Blasphemous Deaths, but given the complexity of the design and my zero experience with foam props, it's really more of a pipe dream compared to getting my games and novels published.

In contrast to the other #art for ParaLens, be it the public domain images I compiled or the other artists I commissioned, Rory Jordan's work really adds a macabre whimsy to the #cardgame I designed. His sketches appear on 5 of the 101 cards in the ECG's initial set!

Tremble before my superior performance at Dispatch! This was for Episode 5.

Some pieces by Nikolin Zanati I commissioned for my ParaLens expandable #cardgame! His sketch work really pops, even when viewed underneath the colored filters the game uses. #art #sketch #TCG

Check out this sketch of some arrowheads I commissioned for my ParaLens #cardgame. The artist is Aye Salinas! Her linework was so tight on all the #art I got back from her that it's kindof impossible to make out all the detail she put in at card scale. Zoom in!

I'll show off some more later! To save money, since this was a small prototype printrun, I used public domain images for over half the cards, editing them to be greyscale and distinct at card size. With ParaLens' archeology theme, it made too much sense. Here are some of the ones I used!

I realize it'd be a shame not to share some of the great black & white sketches I commissioned for my ParaLens #cardgame just because it never got picked up by a publisher. This stunning piece by Ayse Yildirim appears on the card [[Altar to a Jaguar Spirit]]. #art

Saw someone driving around with a 'Duma 1' liscence plate. Hope they're not heralding the dark dragon to my neighborhood.

Even in our current fascist nightmare world, in which you should be in the process of slowly tearing down, art remains a bright spot. There's a good chance 100kanojo S3 is happening!

I would be flying this one

Rarely have I encountered a strategy game I am as comically bad at as this one.

It's a little crunchy, but check out my second Vacuum Launcher prototype in action! This suction-operated toy is the sweet hook for my #VacuumTCG, where the corner pointing to the target sets where your cards enter! #gamedev #3dprinting

I know it won't happen but wouldn't it be perfect if Morpho Knight was somehow a secret boss in Silksong? He fits the setting so well.

I have a fun kid's party game I'm taking to #Protospiel Chicago which I haven't shared here before called 'Is This a Cow?'

The idea is they you have to pick the correct animal toy out of a bowl with your eyes closed, just be feeling it out. It's quite amusing, for what it is. #gamedev

Another cool #TCG I'm bringing to #Protospiel Chicago is Cobblepips! By sliding the cardboard chits into sleeves, you can make your own cards to play, with over 200,000 combinations! #gamedev

One of the games I'm showcasing this year at #Protospiel Chcago is my ParaLens #ecg! Players will get to try any of the 5 starter decks and disprove eachother's records to be the last archeologist standing! #gamedev

Just finished reading Beta Vulgaris. What a wild, relatable, trippy vibe of a book. #booksky

Why does the Earthbending mechanic in the #Avatar #Magic set involve animating non-stony lands? It should be ROCKS, as exemplified by Toggo.

Grabbed a copy of the original Starfy for the #GBA. Game is a vibe for sure, very cute like the DS one. I can't read Japanese, but I'm pretty sure I just stopped a hermit crab from cucking this clam's lionfish GF 😅

I'm excited for people to finally get their hands on Fosfoe next month, as it's the only card game I've designed that nobody other than me has actually tried yet. It was influenced by Wixoss and Inscryption, but the main hook is still building the worst deck for your opponent. #gamedev

I have decided to go to #Protospiel #Chicago again this year, bringing a different assortment of games! Everybody thought Tri-Casters was really cool last time, but trying to play it in a well-lit room didn't really work properly. #gamedev

In terms of the actual narrative for #VacuumTCG, I only have the beginnings of an outline and cards for some of the characters like Gail here. The plan was for the first 5 sets to focus on establishing the present state of the galaxy and slowly add mechanical complexity. #gamedev 1/2

To make the effect possible, players wear these cute little paper glasses. Tide cards are only legal in 2 player games since you need to be seated 180 degrees apart to see the same thing. I have other less flashy mechanics for multiplayer.

I kept meaning to show off how the Tide cards in #VacuumTCG actually look in action, so here's a clip! As they spin, they flash in and out of visibility! #gamedev
