Gotta say that Verity’s choice of language throughout the prez about “Immersive Arts” is fabulous. Simple. Straightforward. People-focussed. Not too abstract or academic. And their definition of immersive is fab:

“Art that actively uses technology to involve the audience”

Andy Burnham did a great gag! He was briefed that this edition was the first for #BEYONDconf outside a capital but 😎 Manchester is the capital when it comes to culture! He’s a charming man, I like him

(6) "Do the cute stuff" - at GoodFest we all went for a mid-conference sea swim. In the evening, we ducklinged our way down a muddy track to a cosy barn-cum-bar where Naughty Nonna’s fed the conference horde. Very Cornwall, very communal, very special.

(5) "We are the ancestors of the future" - said by guerrilla gardener Kalpana Arias. Which, put another way, is the same as this provocation:

(2) "Product thinking" - a tactic, also Hugo, for organising / mobilising people around common goals. E.g. beach clean up kits, conferences, citizen science projects and campaigns. Like “Shit Man”. PS tension & conflict is more appealing than the collab & compromise of actual solutions
