I'm also in love with the promo image created for STO's version of Moopsy by one of our UI Artists (who is not on bluesky near as I can tell!)

We are adding a brand-new Warbird design to the game very, very soon! It's meant to be from the Wrath of Khan-Undiscovered Country era!

After extensive study (browsing Wikipedia) it seems like it was actually the former, or both. The book holds up for its age and has a small cast of characters that are intuitively drawn from the human response to such a disaster. I love alien invasion stories and it's clearly the king & blueprint.

I'm not enough of a student of Wells to know if he was saying "Colonialism is bad!" or actually saying "Colonialism is a law of nature and it was just finally our turn" but I actually think it was the second one.

One of the things that's wild about the original WAR OF THE WORLDS book is that the narrator is literally like "Yeah, it sucks that the Martians invaded us but as British people can we blame em???"

Though it would've worked even better as a 9/11 allegory if the son had stayed dead.

I also have made a low poly #starcraft wraith model that is meant to be 1:1 with the sprite versions proportions- very different look! Here textured in a somewhat SC2-based style, but the model is fairly accurate to the original, more so than the one in the official remaster.

I have to admit my shame in seeing the screenshot and logo and hastily re-skeeting without actually reading it. My friends and I are gearing up to do Shadows of Kerensky in MW5C and I hope to run through Clans with them in the future someday.
