The majority of deals larger than the Cubs largest deal are considered to be bad deals. Personally, my preferred priority is to see the Cubs bring young players into the org and then keep them at contract renewal time. I'm not as free agent crazed as a lot of our fanbase.

Cubs were 10% off of the floor and within striking distance of the 3rd-5th highest spending teams. I agree on Ricketts but I don't think this is enough of a difference to say we won't spend within reference to the original argument regarding deferred comp.

We were literally against the tax floor last season, we were spending money.
