What do voters actually know? Almost nothing.

I'm not a complete nihilist, but maybe you're right. We might he screwed either way.

Platner denies being a fascist, though. I still can't figure out why he spent the last decade acting like a leftist. Mills is overtly pro-genocide. Of course, I never considered the idea that it's only bad when the victims are European Jews, yet acceptable when the victims are Palestinian Muslims.

Do you think we should support Mills instead? I think the Platner tattoo could be a red line. On the other hand, I said support for Israel was a red line. Either way, in Maine, we'll have to cross one of those lines.

Where is the rest of the world? Is the entire world just going to act like this is fine? Are these lives do insignificant that nobody will speak out for them?

Far right messaging is incredibly powerful. Twice as many Americans agree with Republicans on key issues like locking up people of color or severely cutting immigration. The overwhelming majority of people disagree with Democrats on every major issue.

The National Guard too. I see militaristic Southerners covering their faces, then going out to harass people of color. You have to wonder, are we talking about the Texas National Guard or the Ku Klux Klan? 🤔
Is there a difference anymore?

Seriously. Now we have militaristic Southerners covering their faces, then going out to harass people of color? Are we talking about the Texas National Guard or the Ku Klux Klan? 🤔
Is there a difference anymore?

It's nice to see some good news, for a change. 👍

I believe there was a growing dissatisfaction which was exacerbated by the news coverage.
September 14, 2025 at 3:33 PM
Is that good? In '21, the cable news channels mostly moved to the right. Understandably, as the president was becoming less popular. COVID issues were controversial & the end of the war in Afghanistan was surprisingly unpopular. Now Trump is president & cable news is still moving to the right.

These people are insane. I feel terrible for the kids being sacrificed at the altar of ignorance.

Why can't we regulate firearms?
Why didn't Trump face accountability?
Why can dark money maintain influence over our elections?
Why was the Voting Rights Act gutted?
Why is gerrymandering allowed?
Why can't a woman access medical care at Planned Parenthood ?
Why is the EPA now ineffectual?

Unfortunately, the climate movement seems dead. The West, and the US in particular, has chosen today's comfort above tomorrow's disaster. It's the Grasshopper & the Ant story, and we're all grasshoppers. Trump ran on destroying the EPA and we gave him the presidency, House, & Senate. That says it all

Every time I hear "Trump will not succeed" in some heinous plan of his, I read an article shortly after about how he accomplished his goal. Senator Whitehouse called it years ago: when the far right took control of the Supreme Court, they opened the door to fascism. That's why I'm surprised by this
August 25, 2025 at 10:56 PM
Fascists rarely just stop being fascists. I'd wager the overwhelming number of MAHA Moms stick with Trump. Privileged white women aren't going to leave the movement, bet on it.

Now, about that pardon..."

"Basically, nothing happened. Also, Trump is essentially a living saint!
Now, about that country club & eventual pardon..."

Never forget that we have deregulated campaign spending & racial gerrymandering because of Justice John Roberts' court.
August 22, 2025 at 9:41 PM
The left completely lacks imagination in how bad things can get. I'm often shocked by how naive my fellow progressives can be. Whether it's immigration, healthcare, war, education, infrastructure, taxes, urban policing, et cetera, the left has no idea how low right wingers are willing to go.
August 22, 2025 at 9:35 PM
I wonder how many of those fools voted for him. Nevertheless, nobody should suffer this indignity. People must understand that voting Republican will make us poorer & sicker, as a rule.
August 13, 2025 at 2:50 PM
This is a game to him & the rest of these idiots. Never mind that millions of people are losing healthcare access, nutrition assistance, clean water protection, education funding, financial scam protection, cancer research, & more. They're just interested in being trolls, forget the real suffering.
