from the Watercolor Honor Society, “I’m very happy to inform you that your painting ‘The River Dart’ has been selected to receive a Watercolor USA Board of Directors Award in this year’s Watercolor USA Exhibition” being held at the Spiva Center for the Arts in Joplin MO. Aug 22-Oct 11.

These 9x9 in. paintings were sold in “Mystery Boxes” at the Cape Elizabeth Land Trust. All 30 artists in the event were asked to submit small format paintings to be sold without the buyer being able to see the painting or know who the artist was. I hope these buyers were happy with their purchase.

I always enjoy painting in the Mountain Maryland Plein Air Event. The Town of Cumberland reminds me of a mini San Francisco of the East. I was honored to win an award for Best Architectural (subject.) Thanks to the organizers, patrons, event judge, and my gracious hosts!

“Trails and Trials of Winter” has been accepted to the American Impressionists Society’s 26th Annual National Juried Exhibition. This year’s venue is Cassens Fine Art in Hamilton, Montana. This acceptance qualifies me for Signature Membership.

Where the land meets the sea, there isn’t a clear boundary as it appears on maps. In low lying land like this, the area belongs to both land and sea. It has its own micro climate and biome where unique birds, mollusks, and mammals thrive.
