Such great news!

A "significant win" for the jarrah forest, for the myriad species inhabiting it, for clean water and for the threatened Red Tail Black Cockatoos! Such great news!

Alcoa shelves plans to explore Perth Hills for mining expansion
US mining giant Alcoa will withdraw part of its plans to expand its mining operations in the world's only jarrah forests, following community concerns around water security and environmental impacts.

If you're wondering why capital keeps burning cash on such a worthless asset it's because its promised them the ability to fire their entire workforce and even though it can't deliver it yet the allure is too strong to stop now
ICYMI: Microsoft’s charge “implies a more than $12 billion quarterly loss at OpenAI, said Firoz Valliji, an analyst at Bernstein.”

That “would mark one of the largest single-quarter losses for a tech company in history.”

A Deloitte report warns that natural gas could crowd out renewables undermining the WA Government’s claim that LNG exports support Asia’s clean energy transition.

“The report was kept secret…it cost taxpayers $400,000 and didn't support the Government’s claims.”

WA is a state captured by the toxic fossil methane gas industry.

The evidence is before our eyes.

Roger Cook still won’t release the report.

He and Labor are not working for the benefit of Western Australians. They’re shoring up the merchants of climate catastrophes & death.

Why? Cui bono?
A secret report – which the WA government itself commissioned – has challenged gas industry and government claims that WA gas will help the world shift from fossil fuels to clean energy.

It's almost like the gas industry has a vested interest. #climate #auspol
Secret report challenges government claim WA gas will help world decarbonise
A secret report undermines the WA government's claim that domestic gas production is helping the rest of the world decarbonise, while the state's own greenhouse gas emissions rise.

The Western Australian government is allowing 2% of Western Australia to be fracked… as if that’s not much.

But

2% of Western Australia’s area is approximately 50,598 square kilometres.

That’s about the same size as Costa Rica or Slovakia.

Imagine ALL of Slovakia covered in toxic gas wells.
