The worst thing is when you feel like you’ve compromised your own integrity

People often confuse it for Bran Stoker’s sequel called ‘Mary W. Shelley’, about Poisonfang’s dentist…

I love everything on the label, hence releasing it! The Rupert Lally one is a massive bargain, double gatefold colour vinyl, maybe his magnum opus. Ffion might be closest to PV in mood. Sussex Telecom if you like more mid-90’s Warp type stuff

Pretty rough year for album releases (lots happening on 12”s) but this one was significant for me. It sounds like the two most vital music scenes in the world of that time colliding, Manchester and Detroit. Which is exactly what it is

I remember their break up being talked about quite a bit in Phil K Dick’s ‘The Transmigration Of Timothy Archer’ and thinking, surely they can’t have been this serious about the band breaking up, but I’ve read so much since that confirms it impacted artists in US at least in symbolic terms

I love to hear historical context from Liverpool at the time instead of just mythology. I suspect their significance was inflated in USA, particularly for counter culture people of the time only on the periphery of music, who used them as short hand for cultural change in arts, politics etc
