It boiled in some soda ash for several hours to clean and break down the fibers a bit.

Most folks would use a blender to make a pulp at this point, but I’m going to give my rock tumbler a go.

The pool balls should mash against the fibers (instead of slicing), hopefully leading to stronger paper
