It was a bittersweet honor to produce a tribute to @joyannreid.bsky.social, one of the people who boosted me early in my career. Always generous with her time and a truly positive person.

I also started off in X-Files chats & listservs. Really fun community, didn't realize how much I missed it until I read this.
AOL chat rooms.
First the X Files chat rooms, where I met three wonderful women, two of whom I dated. (Which is weird to think about 28 years later but yes)
The third one dated my roommate (years later, in a freak coincidence).
She also ran a David Duchovny fan club - I was the only male member.
Okay, let's get nostalgic

What was the VERY FIRST online platform that you became addicted to posting on?????

Between the two missed face mask calls against Washington, the picked up offensive pass interference, and that roughing the passer call, these refs are doing everything they can to keep the Commanders in this game. #FlyEaglesFly

Sad news for NBC, since we're losing a high-quality reporter, but great news for The Onion & Ben!
NEWS: My friends and I now own and run The Onion. I’ll be the CEO.

We’re keeping the entire staff, bringing back The Onion News Network, and will share the wealth with staff. Basically, we’re going to let them do whatever they want.

Get excited.
The Onion Is Sold by G/O Media
The satirical news website was bought by a new firm in Chicago that took inspiration for its name, Global Tetrahedron, from a book written by The Onion’s staff.

Exhibit 8,432 in my ongoing “why do people think Alvarado is good for the bullpen?” There are too many of these situations, particularly in consequential games. #Phillies #OpeningDay
