"High as a kite" is a funny phrase, because since it was coined we've developed things that can go considerably higher than kites. So now the baseline level of "absurd highness" for something to acheive is not even that high all things considered

I can't be the only one who thinks it's a little fucked up that Dawn dish soap uses cartoon ducklings as their mascots because every time there's an oil spill they gotta use gallons of it to clean off the affected wildlife, and Dawn thinks they can use that philanthropy as marketing.
