I fulfilled a dream and got to watch sumo in person. It was amazing. I shocked our guide because I knew Rikishi and previous tournament winners. I hope I have the opportunity to see sumo again.

This is me celebrating a win. The last couple days I've been hit with some of the sads, which sucks on vacation. I got the watch I've been wanting in Tokyo, where Seiko is made. It's very special to me, even this early in our adventures.

One of the things that catches my attention in Tokyo is that almost every street, big or small, has plants or trees. It's a small detail that just makes the space more livable.

東京大神宮. It is a Shinto shrine dedicated to relationships, among other things. It is beautifully nestled in Iidabashi.

Day 2. We are settled in now. It's interesting to really think about the places you travel. Japan is often fetishized, especially in the US. It's important to reflect on how every society has its struggles and its successes. If we don't address the struggle we learn nothing.

In Asakusa, visited Senso-ji and loved the many statues dedicated to artists. This one is of a Kabuki actor, Danjuro Ichikawa, depicting Shibaraku. The statue is made of copper.

Short story: The trees were sparse but they still provided a level of comfort to the traveler as the snow fell. They knew that they would find shelter in the coming hamlet, for the hamlet has endured the winters and they do not withhold food and warmth for those in need.

Monster Hunter: World is a great game. I've returned to it a couple of times since it came out, but this time through it feels really good to play. I'm looking forward to Monster Hunter Wilds.

Another successful Thanksgiving. It is the first one that feels like it could be my mom's last. And I'm not sure how to process that. I can improv emotional story lines in campaigns but it really is harder with those you love. Find the people you love and love you back and live as much as you can.
