I started these (mostly native) gardens from turf lawn 2 years ago & I can hardly believe it myself. One of the best things I've ever done. 🖤
In another universe, he continues... "and that's why ANYONE who has a baby will be paid my salary for the first 2yrs of the baby's life. We will provide the most nutritious foods available, a weekly housekeeper, & childcare — all FREE of cost. Parents & babies MATTER & reducing stress is vital!"
RFK Jr: "All of the ingenuity of corporate America has not produced an infant formula that is superior in nutrition and all the qualities that we want to the infant formula that God made, which is the infant formula in a mother's breast."

‘Tinted windows and out-of-state plates’: How ICE watchers look for agents in their neighborhoods
Across the Twin Cities, ICE agents and activists are playing a high stakes cat-and-mouse game. The goal is to make their job as difficult as possible and protect their immigrant neighbors.

Two roads diverged in the snowy wood & I—
I took neither because I am not a bunny & do not fit under the bushes,
And that has made all the difference.

Hey crafty community, where do you get quality coloring books? Shopping for elementary-aged kiddos & the amount of 💩 ai-generated coloring books on 💩 thin paper is depressing. Michael's in-store selection was awful & I won't support 🎯, WMart, or the 'zon. There's gotta be something else!

It's officially Baking Season & I am HERE FOR IT. Woke up to snow & started raspberry pretzel salad for the requisite meal, made a birthday cake to frost tomorrow, started a pie with homemade crust for Friday, started mint bars per request, & fed the sourdough starter for this weekend. 🧑🏼‍🍳🪄🥧

Little joy: kiddo got their first library card today & told LITERALLY EVERYONE he saw for the rest of the day. Dad, strangers at the store, cashier at the store, person parked next to us at the store, his doctor at a checkup, & the neighbor he saw from across the street — that one he 📢 HOLLERED. 🖤📚✨

Anne Frank & Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. were born in 1929. Viola Fletcher, who just died this week, was already 15 when they were born.

But while we were just with Ms. Fletcher days ago, Anne Frank & Dr King are portrayed as ancient history.

Remember, "The past is never dead. It's not even past.”

Louie has gotten braver & is exploring more of the house. He was mystified by the freezer when I opened it, so I took a couple things out for him to smell. He was not impressed. The lamp is also confounding. He keeps poking his nose over the top of the shade to inspect it. 🔎🐈‍⬛

When I plan crafty projects, I take pics I can reference to get missing supplies without pulling everything out again. 1=fabric for a puff quilt 2=yarn for a crochet blanket 3=fabric I acquired yesterday because LOOK AT IT!!! Haven't even *started* the first 2 projects. Is it 80HD? Crafter brain?🧵1

Following politics is no different than loving reality tv or being a busybody, it's just that you expect so much more from the participants even though you know all any of them wants is attention.

It's been a month of Louie & I recently noticed the voice I use to talk to him in is The Thickest Minnesotan Accent — like I'm telling the Lena part of an Ole & Lena joke. BUT WHY?! And it's different from the voice I've always talked to my dog of 12+ years in. What is happening in my subconscious?!

What's fun about perimenopause is that it feels the same as the somatic experience of anxiety. Mentally I'm good, but physically I'm sweaty & drained. It took so long for me to actually feel those feelings in my body that those feelings NOT being anxiety now really sucks. 🫠

If you're waffling about voting today because all that's on the ballot is school board members, ask yourself if reducing the quality of education might be a factor in *gestures frantically.* Would you like to continue on this path? It starts in your community whether you have kids or not. Go. Vote.

Existing SNAP benefits were already not enough for many folks, meaning they've already run out of grocery money for this month & have no more coming. People are already hungry. 🖤
