Happy birthday to the powerful and insightful Dr. Angela Davis. We are so grateful she joined #BMEC2024, where she reminded us, "There is no liberation without education." It's a mantra we will continue to carry forward in our work.

Jesus.

They rebranded segregation and the press just follows along.

Why did we need "antidiscrimination practices in federal hiring?"
President Donald Trump issued a broad executive order ending antidiscrimination practices in federal hiring, reversing a nearly 60-year precedent and launching a significant step forward in his agenda to eliminate diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives in federal government.

One of the best things you can do right now is read books. Buy them. Borrow them from the library. Gift them.

Read history. Read fiction. Read science writing. Read anything that shows you the world is bigger than what fascists say it is.

Read to remember why your resistance matters. 📚💙

In this moment when antisemitism has reached a new high, this is outrageous behavior. At a Presidential rally no less.

Donald Trump should condemn it. And Elon Musk owes our country an apology.

Speaking at a celebratory rally in Washington, Mr. Musk twice extended his arm out with his palm facing down, drawing comparisons to the Nazi salute.

For no reason.
Really.

Not everyone can fight Trumpism and Trumpists directly. But remember this: kindness, decency, and fidelity to American values are defiance in the face of Trumpism.

So be kind, decent, and faithful, particularly to the many kinds of people despised and attacked by Trumpists. That’s revolutionary./1

Trans kids are under attack. Every year, I make a thread of trans and nonbinary girl scouts you can get your cookies from.

Lets get our cookies from them this year in solidarity!

Celebrated solstice with my bestie by reading and eating chocolate. I’m so thankful for this invitation and also that I have been able to begin reading fiction for pleasure again. I’m excited to finish this trilogy that I began in 2010. This quote from the book hits different than it would then.
