Hard same. I love the flexibility of being self-employed but I am looking at “real jobs” for the benefits.

I assume AI would illustrate sparrows in some super jeans. A flare leg, probably.

I showed this post to my sister yesterday so when she took a bite of my pecan pie she said “must’ve been a good pecan”.

My mom spent like 3 days brining a turkey and it turned out excellent.

My dad complimented the turkey and said it must’ve been a good bird.

25 years later and we still say it when the turkey is good.

If you want to make sure not to miss anything good, this has cues for when to take a break. Option 2 is what I would go with.

We took my wicked obsessed 4yo niece and she did well. The monkeys are scary like in the first one (to me at least). I took her out of the theater maybe halfway through so she could move around and reset from the loud sounds.

After another move and grad school I found my path to my current career.

And I have been happily toiling away as state and local tax consultant ever since.

So thanks, Moberly speed trap, for re-routing me.

You might be guessing I went back for public policy or fundraising or even marketing.

But nope! I realized after all those jobs that I liked the compliance aspect best so I talked my way into 3 accounting courses at the local university.

I quit, moved home to my parents and had a proper quarter life crisis.

That I solved in the time honored tradition of going back to school.

Next was a short stint in government working on budgets and reports for the parks department.

And then I got my dream job, finance director of a statewide campaign. I was 24. It was a hard job and too stressful for me.

Which turned into an internship managing a state rep race. And that led to a job after graduating as an organizer for another campaign.

That led to a political fundraising job where I did the compliance for quarterly filings with the election commission.

I need to get off hair tool TikTok, that sounds like a good replacement

Ok but what was the 3D printing project? I can rent time at the maker space at my library and obviously want to use that resource but I have no idea what to print!?

I saw quite a few puffy vests over short sleeve polo shirts this week. They sensed the season had changed but also it was still warm-ish.

This is what got me to cancel my NYT sub. I told myself that since I only paid $4 a month I wasn’t going to move the needle by cancelling every other time it was terrible.

Less expensive option, will have to hem yourself. Possibly in a store near you or shippable to store

Highly recommend that option. They can pull shoes too so you can get an idea how to actually style them. I am seeing a lot of relaxed fit straight leg with a cuff. And wide leg slightly cropped which might work well for you since boots can fit under

I saw the leaf blower recall yesterday … and then saw that exact leaf blower being used. Dude appreciated when I told him it had a recall.

I am doing the logistics for our big family Disney trip this year and I love it. Yes it involved being at my computer at both 11pm and 5am to secure reservations but I have seated lunches every day so I can escape the crowds + have a fancy cocktail

And then I got fired anyway! Not being willing to give 200% to a job that required it was a toxic relationship that I am truly grateful they ended. I was slowly easing my boundaries to keep up which was not fair to me or my family.
November 2, 2025 at 6:22 PM
Yes! I went down to 80% at my work from home job (took a 20% pay cut) so that i could actually stay logged off from 5-8. Still managed to work 40+ hours most weeks, funny how that happened.
