We should be outraged with both but in a different way with the person sleeping on a bench. No one should be homeless in a country as wealthy as the US. Off we can spend a trillion dollars on defense, we can solve homelessness.

My ancestors were in coastal VA/NC at that time (arrived in VA a few years after the starving time in Jamestown) but I will totally give this a read.

I think every single person in the world should get free healthcare and free education. I would rather my taxes go toward that than a trillion to the military and tax breaks for Billionaires.
