For over a year our 2yo has been obsessed with videos of the Lowes animatronic Halloween reaper band. So for his 3rd birthday, we surprised him with his own reaper band. Now all he wants to do is perform with the 7ft tall reapers, specifically as an *animatronic* skeleton. He’s a method actor.

When I learned about what happened in Boston in the 70s regarding busing and desegregation, this is what I think of. Exactly what she is saying here. But this is the trend with immigrants to this country. The anti-blackness is very consistent.

This. It’s remarkably easy not to know. It is so easy that I check in at the end of the day to make sure I didn’t miss something major like a nuclear threat.
took a few days off for my brain and one pretty alarming observation i have is just how easy it is to not hear about the bad stuff that is happening if you don't explicitly dip into specific information streams (not a new problem but feels orders of magnitude more siloed than even 2-3 years ago)

I really wish people would care about Trump using Pinochet's tactics to disappear people for speaking their mind.
This may be the biggest free speech crisis in living memory. The president now bragging about detaining a lawful permanent resident and smearing him as 'pro Hamas', no outlining any specific crimes he is accused of or charged with. This is what a fascist takeover looks like.
