I respectfully disagree. Like it or not, Democracy is a participatory system; citizens don’t have the luxury to be disengaged or indifferent. African-American groups understand the importance of being involved politically. It’s mostly white Americans who choose to be uninvolved.

I think the “moderate” Republican went extinct with the arrival of Ronald Reagan, unfortunately.
