Farming politics are so fucking infuriating. I don't even know how much of it comes from actual farmers and how much of it is wealthy white collar men feeling insecure about masculinity--the "he hates farmers" speech was to conservatives in suburban Des Moines!

The very best evidence that we have a nitrate problem in Iowa is that the Iowa legislature de-funded nitrate monitors across the state. We need to monitor and we need to minimize.
