Today I'd like to commemorate Samuel Younge Jr, an activist from Tuskegee, Alabama who was shot dead by a clerk for using a 'white' bathroom 59 years ago to date. The murderer was acquitted by an all white jury, and he was the first black university student to be killed in the civil rights movement.
