I understand that people don't like red=good and blue=bad in my player cards. I cannot switch them around because my mind doesn't think that way. However, I am willing to switch to green is good. Thoughts on this color scheme?

Here is a sample player card for sharp shooter Pavel Dorofeyev where you can clearly see he has had a hard accurate shot for a few seasons now. He's not much of a skater though.

Here is where I am at with the player cards. I know some people prefer red=bad and blue=good but my eyes don't work that way and that isn't how the website is set up either. So think Red=Hot=Good, Blue=Cold=Bad.

A lot of people don't like Red indicating Good and Blue indicating Bad. My brain is completely re-wired the other way around.
No guarantee that I'll change things up, but which of these do you like better? Blue=Good or Red=Good (I probably need to tone down the color scales regardless).

Working on some player cards (team cards coming soon too). I still have some tweaking but what are your thoughts so far? This guy seems pretty good.

I am restricting rating of players to users who have logged in which brings me to the next update. I have implemented user accounts. You can register/login to user accounts using the links at the upper left of the page. Links will change to My Account and Logout when logged in.

You may have also noticed contract ratings on the player page. This is where you all can rate player contracts. You can rate contracts on a scale of 1 (Very Player Friendly) to 5 (Very Team Friendly). Rating Averages will be shown for contracts that have ratings.

The first is a slight re-design of the player pages. I have merged the contract, stats and news/opinion tabs into a single tab shown by default and to make it less messy I have hidden past contracts as default. You can click 'show' to see past contracts if desired.

My plan to build a one stop shop for NHL Salary Cap and Analytics continues. I have enhanced the Player Stats tab on team pages with the addition of skater, goalie, forward line and defense pair advanced statistics. Simply select the desired report.

Minor update to account for the new salary cap estimates. The Cap Summary Table on the team pages now show the new salary cap values as well as how much cap space teams have in future seasons. Beyond 2027-28 we estimate the salary cap using a likely conservative ~2.5% annual increase.

Team and Player Statistics have been added to team and player pages. Right now I only have NHL stats for players but I am looking into getting AHL/Junior/European leagues too.

Some interesting salary cap maneuvering to make this work. Seamus Casey and Simon Nemec were called up before Bastian was put on LTIR which created enough LTIR space to recall Bowers, Dowling, Foote and DeSimone after returning Casey and Nemec back to AHL.

Second, on individual team pages in the Cap Summary/Cap Hit tab I have added a 'Cap Summary' table which summarizes the cap hits of the teams current roster for the current and future seasons.

First, I have added four new columns (Forwards, Defense, Goalies, Other) to the home page team salary cap summary. These indicate how much projected cap space the team will use for each group. Forwards, Defense and Goalies include players on IR but not LTIR.

New feature: Buyout calculator.
On the players page and current contract table you will now see a calculator icon at the end of each future season row. Clicking it will take you to a buyout information page buying out that contract prior to that season.
