#nowplaying 'Frisco Mabel Joy by Mickey Newbury. Another of his most well known records and another great atmosheric progressive country album.

#nowplaying White Light by Gene Clark. The images of Genes on the front and back tell you everything you need to know about what this album sounds like.

#nowplaying s/t by Beverly Glenn-Copeland. I'm actually playing some records! Big fan of s/sw writer albums like this, with its lush soundscapes and loose jazziness.

Bought a few records in Reckless and Sister Ray. Highlight was finding a copy of this Lemon Drops comp from the 80s.

Age yourself with a film you saw in a cinema as a kid.

Finished the AE86 of Mt. Akina. This was a horrible kit to make.

I don't go into charity shops much for records these days. However, I couldn't resist picking these up in Oxfam Headingley.

Went to Arcade Club today for my eldest's 11th Birthday. Managed to indulge my love of shmups - including this danmaku classic.

My favourite Doctor and companions.

#nowplaying Looks Like Rain by Mickey Newbury. Sorted the Internet in my office so I can properly listen to records while I work again. Anyway, thanks to my pal Berti for introducing me to Newbury. This is one of a number of fantastic LPs by him.

Finished my latest build. The Lancia Stratos HF Rally. A bit of a battle with shitty components and air humidity but I'm reasonably pleased with results.

Making some progress on the Lancia Stratos HF Rally. 👍🏻

#nowplaying Would You Believe by Billy Nicholls. Baroque pop classic that has thankfully been reissued.

#nowplaying s/t by Ellie Pop. This one was a real grower for me. Really tight Fabs '65/66 inspired pop-rock with psych flashes.

On a sunny train journey to London. Suitably sunny soundtrack.

#nowplaying Kokkyou Junreika by J.A. Caesar. Wild distillation of music from an avant-garde Japanese theatre production. I love Caesar's work and this, from 1973, is probably his finest moment.

#nowplaying Happy Sad by Tim Buckley. Love the loose breezy, jazzy vibe on this Buckley LP. Buzzin' Fly remains a perennial favourite, having first heard it on the first Psychedelic Years comp in the mid 90s.

#nowplaying Behold & See by Ultimate Spinach. The onset of Spring and then Summer always gets me reaching for my first love, 1960s psychedelia...

#nowplaying The Eyes of the Beacon Street Union. Their best tracks over their two '68 LPs are top tier East Coast psychedelia. Of those two LPs, this is my favourite.

#nowplaying Bells, Boots and Shambles by Spirogyra. Probably my favourite of their three 70s LPs. High quality progressive and psychedelic folk.

#nowplaying Banana our by Kevin Ayers. Always a safe pair of odd hands.
April 17, 2025 at 12:51 PM
#nowplaying To The Highest Bidder by Supersister. One of my favourite Dutch LPs. Great Canterbury inspired progressive rock.
