I’m delighted to announce I'm standing as the Labour candidate in Wellington Bays/Rongotai in 2026. I'm thrilled to fight for better jobs, housing, and health services in our community. Look in the bio to donate, volunteer, and help us deliver a better government next year.

Looks like National are really panicking about Labour's CGT and health policy - I think they realise how popular it will be with the vast majority of voters. #nzpol

#nzpol I never thought that I would see the day when the Public Service Commission was used as an attack arm of the government. National Party polling must be telling them how popular the strikes are, and how unpopular they are. They are afraid.

You've got to vote folks. Get your neighbours, co-workers, everyone to go vote. Go tell Ray Chung's wealthy backers that he and his predatory, misogynist, discriminatory backs at Better Wellington to shove it - at the ballot box!

Throughout my campaign to deliver serious leadership and real change at Council I've been backed by the most incredible team of volunteers. With just under 40 hours until polls close they're still working the phones! There are no words to thank these wonderful Wellingtonians enough. Tautoko ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

Ben’s been a fantastic progressive on council over the last few years. If you’re keen on unlocking new housing, protecting accessible council facilities (like cheap swimming pool access and protecting library opening hours), support Ben and his fight against the cookers running in Takapū Ward!
Can you chip in a few spare $ as a microdonation so I can make sure my Get Out The Vote advertising hits as many people as possible? With Māori Wards and Regional Council on the ballot every cent in these late stages can make a real difference:

Māori Wards honour Te Tiriti. They ensure Māori voices are at the council table helping to make better decisions. That makes local democracy fairer, more representative and better for everyone.

Vote to KEEP Māori Wards.

i’m sorry but the consequences of TPM’s rhetoric that they are the only True representatives of māori is, one, the slide into casual racism as per the screenshot, and then two, a sort of inverted blood and soil nationalism

Bloody solid win from @ponekematt.bsky.social - he’s a fantastic bloke and will do great things on council. Vote Matt!

❌️ Voted against delisting Gordon Wilson

Not to mention Make Some Noise (the best spiritual sequel to Whose Line Is It Anyway I’ve seen so far) and Um Actually, which is a great way to broaden your horizons as a nerd of all kinds (used to be v exclusive, but now caters to many kinds of nerdery)!
There is a lot more to Dropout.tv than Game Changer, but Game Changer is worth the price of subscription ($10 NZ a month or $80 a year) by itself. The season opener. Holy. Shit.

By far the most entertainment per dollar of any streaming service I subscribe to.

My god, Studylink can be utterly awful. Just spent an hour on hold to be condescended to and hung up on. Then, tried to call back only to be told they aren’t taking any more calls at the moment due to high demand. I know it’s crunch time for them, but where’s the surge staffing?

Just a quick reminder before you swim - always make sure you check whether the water source you’re swimming in has been a dumping ground for sewage.

And make sure you don’t cut yourself when swimming in said water.

In other news, my right foot is double the size of my left atm. Fun times.
