My new book is a memoir in essays about witchcraft, SFF, pop culture, urban ecology, and other cool things!

My new book is out TODAY! It's a memoir-in-essays in which I write about my love of witchcraft, folk horror, Loki, the Morrigan, bee priestesses, fiber arts, and so much more. This book is about all the unexpected places where witchcraft lives, and I poured my heart into it.

Here’s a valley carpenter bee I met today on the way to the gym. Unfortunately, she wasn’t moving much, and was clearly at the end of her life. I hope she was dying of old age, and not something preventable or human-caused. Still, what a beautiful little creature.

A few photos from the first day of fall in Southern California. Oaks, fruiting manzanitas, goldenrod, rose hips, lupines (long out of bloom), and so many more. Once you get out of all the manicured, water-guzzling landscaping, this land is beautiful and sacred.
