Simplistic, sensationalist and an unhinged opinion piece from @skynewss.bsky.social. Please let’s discuss political issues in a balanced and informed manner without hyperbole and make a a considered appraisal of current affairs. Talk of being on a “war footing” is plainly nonsense.

More sensational news reporting from Sky News in the UK. It’s projected that approx 80% of us will vote for democratic parties in tomorrow’s Elections. Why always give attention to those who seek to undermine democracy? We, the decent and tolerant among us, are the majority. #WirSindMehr #Wahl2025

I suggest Steve Witkoff reads “I Know These Dictators” by G.Ward Price written in the 1930s. I picked up a copy second hand a while back.

With the rise of right-wing populism throughout Europe, it’s important that we stand up for what we believe in, empathy, decency, and tolerance, regardless of race, ethnicity, or colour. Today, I fulfilled my democratic duty and cast my vote for the German national election scheduled for Feb 23rd.

Honestly, the #FIFA2034 World Cup in Saudi Arabia? I know there are more important things to be upset about, but has football truly lost its soul (probably did ages ago)? Surely this doesn’t sit right with every decent football fan? Too much money, too many matches, too much corruption.

I understand the narrative, but listening to @talksportradio.bsky.social this morning, the focus is once again on how poor #MUFC played and completely ignoring what was a great performance yesterday from #NFFC. Mitigated slightly by Tony Cascarino downplaying our chances of a top six finish.

This kind of hype does slightly annoy me. Just like every incident in every game is “huge” or “massive” right from the first game of every season #LFC have had a great start, but to ask if the title race is over after just 12 games is just plain daft.

Liverpool's to lose? Is Premier League title race almost over?
Only once has a Premier League team had a bigger lead than Liverpool's eight points after 12 games - so is the title race almost over?

Absolutely ridiculous decision by #LCFC to sack Steve Cooper after only 12 games! Should at least give a manager one transfer window to make changes/additions before pulling the trigger.

Remember when anyone labels you as woke, what they are really saying is that “I can’t believe you are not as racist and as bigoted as I am”.

Hurrah! Finally have left the Uni Klink Essen after 8 days. Back in the land of the living.

So sitting here in hospital in the Uni Klinik in Essen with Pancreatitis, as result of a recent Covid infection, something as a vulnerable cancer patient I have tried to avoided for 5 years. Folks #covid is not a cold.

I’m not surprised by this. In my experience, every single person we vote to represent us, will seek to use thier position for personal gain, above the interests of public service, country or more often than not, morality. It’s a sad face of human nature that having more is somehow never enough.

Sunak loves to quote “it’s what the British expect us to do” or “what the British people want”. This “will of the people” nonsense doesn’t stand up to scrutiny. If they are so sure about the correctness of their policies, they should call an election. The majority, I am convinced, think otherwise.

No matter what your political persuasion, surely we can all agree that Suella Braverman was eventually unfit to hold high office and we should be thankful that she has been removed. The talent pool to replace her is paper thin. The person might have been removed but the policies may remain.

I find it disheartening that the Labour leadership (not for the first time) takes a view to placate its voter base, seeking as always, not to endanger it’s chances of winning the next election. There is a moral line to take on Gaza, which is to put humanity and suffering above internal politics.

Editorial: The Labour leader is right to argue for a two-state solution but he is far from convincing in his latest intervention over the war in Gaza

So Netanyahu says Israel will not agree to ceasefire in Gaza, adding “this is a time for war”. If there ever was a statement highlighting the utter failure of humanity, empathy and compassion for fellow man, this is it.

Depressing to see Govt ministers question the actions of law enforcement agencies during this weekend’s protests in London. As far I know, one individual chanted a potentially offensive phrase (out of over 100,000 present). No action was deemed necessary. That should be the end of the discussion.
