NEW: The first two years of Massachusetts' millionaire tax has raised $3 billion more than expected.

And rather than driving the rich away, IPS researchers found that the number of millionaires has *increased.*

Tax the rich. Greg Ryan in @bloomberg.com:
Millionaire Tax That Inspired Mamdani Fuels $5.7 Billion Haul in Massachusetts
A millionaire levy in Massachusetts that New York City mayoral frontrunner Zohran Mamdani holds up as a model for taxing the rich has generated $3 billion more in revenue than expected without forcing...

DEATH BY LIGHTNING on Netflix is only four episodes and a must-watch miniseries imo if you like historical dramas.

Really great performances by the main cast, even if a bit anachronistic at times.

Did not know anything about the factional divide in the Republican Party in the 1870s and 1880s!

Can’t believe I’m devastated about a fictional representation of a president who I didn’t know a thing about until this week, what a great miniseries
If James Garfield was half as a likable as Michael Shannon in DEATH BY LIGHTNING then damn we really got robbed of a great president lol

Boardwalk Empire watchers been on the Respect Shea Whigham train for 15 years 😤
Shea Whigham as Roscoe Conkling is such insanely good casting that you have to be at my intersection of Character Actor Sicko and History Sicko to fully appreciate but fortunately that's like hundreds of thousands of people on here

Love how cops allegedly crying over an election is principled but if it’s, say, women crying over Trump winning it’s very hilarious and funny!
lol.

This is a guy on a massive power trip who thinks he’s above the law and will never be held accountable.

And given Democrats’ pathetic track record of doing absolutely nothing in the face of Republican crimes, he’s probably right.
Bovino: "We're ratcheting operations up in Chicago. That's a very corrupt system in Chicago. Whether it's those elected leaders like Pritzker or those out of control judges, Chicago needs some attention. You're gonna see some very dynamic operations."

Difference in media ecosystems in a nutshell that a Proud Boy killed someone on the job and it barely even makes local news.

If someone with far-left ties had punched and killed someone like this you’d have Trump posting about it tonight.

Seeing the worst and most sociopathic human beings in our society actively rewarded for their cruelty is what really gets to me
It’s the abject cruelty and sadism without consequences that truly breaks one’s spirit tbh

The most depressing thing to me is that I have negative faith that Democrats will ever hold anyone accountable for this.

They didn’t prosecute a single member of the Bush administration for the War on Terror, why would this be any different?

We WILL have socialism in blue cities and redneck centrists need to stay out of our business
democrats love all their moderate, progressive, and top-of-the-distribution leaders <3
they can all live in harmony together under a big diverse tent if they restore regional party identities and stop the circular firing squad on nationalized media <3

Honestly? Good.

Make every awful Democrat side with Trump and Netanyahu. Continue to try and force a rogue genocidal state down our throats and see how that goes.

you could fact check this — there aren’t 30 million illegal immigrants and there is no evidence that the presence of an immigrant in say houston has any impact on housing in madison, wisconsin — or you could note straightforwardly that this is just nazi rhetoric
JD Vance: "A lot of young people are saying housing is way too expensive. Why is that? Because we flooded the country with 30 million illegal immigrants who were taking houses that ought by right go to American citizens."

Being rich is considered “experience” in elite society
for the record, this is how the @nytimes.com covered Bloomberg, a man elected to the same office as Katie Wilson with the exact same amount of experience in public office as Katie Wilson, but whom the paper did not view with obvious contempt www.nytimes.com/2001/11/07/n...
