Let’s send the shoemaker back to his shop. All of Elon’s businesses have billions in contracts with US govt. He and his minions need to be kept at arms length. Giving them access to our most sensitive systems is a clear and present danger to our national security and sovereignty.

It is absolutely wrong by laws and ethical guidelines. And Noah is right, Elon is leading an effort that would not be viewed by the Founding Fathers (the original originalists) as Constitutional. The inmates are running the asylum. The Oligarchs get richer and we get poorer.

The government audits itself all the time. Internal controls under the various inspectors general were an annual event. Yes, they sometimes fail. And other times they succeed in finding and fixing issues. But tRUMP fired the top IGs… And DOGE is not auditing. It’s cutting muscle.

That’s a big IF. I am all for eliminating waste, rooting out fraud, and punishing abuses. BUT, indiscriminate cuts at the whim of an oligarch who none of us elected nor did Congress confirm is putting too much power in the wrong hands. Massive conflict of interest!
