Shit is absolutely out of control, even for someone like me who desperately craves new games. Every single game comes out some degree of fucked up and gets massive improvements over a year (or more, looking at you Obsidian and Owlcat and CDProjeckt) and sells for half the price. It's insane.

To all the people saying, "I can't trust players not to metagame and cheat," and your players are not actual children, then you're most likely the problem.
It's amazing how much better everything is once you treat your players like adults and let your expectations be known. Trust is pretty cool.

I actually really dislike this comparison because to me the core experience of Dark Souls 2 is the fact that it controls and feels like shit. Silksong feels like a joy to control, whereas DS2 was ambitious in putting out an entire game that controlled like you were underwater.
Never escaping the "The Dark Souls 2 of Metroidvanias" allegations.
